Tank Build
I'm trying to figure out the ultimate tank build. I was thinking about warrior/elementalist with tactics and earth magic. If you think your tank build was awesome tell me about the good points and bad points so that my build will be the best. here's the build I'm thinking.
tactics: 12
strength: 3
earth magic: 12
the reason i want earth magic, is that I'm thinking that earth magic probably has good defence buffs. I though the protection prayers of a monk might be good too. let me know.

This should be in The Campfire and will probably be moved there anyways.
As for the build:
You will be doing hardly any damage with no weapon skill, and a warrior doesn't have the energy regen or pool to effectively use magic, especially elementalist magic. No one will even care about you (if this is for PvP) and if PvE you will be spending too much on defense and the monsters will probably ignore you since you won't be drawing their attention. Go Strength, Weapon Skill (sword, ax, hammer) and Earth Magic and see how that works.

It's designed for GvG to distract enemies so that the elementalist primarys can do their thing. Because fire elementalists have an unmoving area of effect yet you a lot of damage, something has to keep them still. I was hoping that if I could take all the damage while I distract them the others could deal the damage. Perhaps I could lose the tactics in favor of some weapon specializations. Maybe I could use a elementalist/warrior. Anyways keep sending ideas.

If you want to protect your team, play a monk.
No serious group in PvP will let a warrior "tank". By definition, warriors are the hardest targets to bring down- they have the highest armor. You will be ignored until your monks and other, softer targets are down, and they you will be eliminated.
The best way to help your team is to fill a role in it. The basic roles are healing/protection, damage, and disruption/shutdown. There are some hybrids, but that's pretty much what it comes down to. "Tank" does not exist in PvP, because human players are smart enough to ignore a tank until the very end, when they can simply overwhelm you with numbers.
Also, in the future, when you design a build it is most useful to come to the table with more than the most basic of concepts. Come to teh table with at least a few of the skills you have in mind, and that will help people see where you are trying to go with your build, and help them to suggest improvements.

You are 100% correct. And I am a fool! Ok, in that case, I guess I'll try a damage dealing warrior. Maybe I'll go:
swords: 12
strength: 10
fire magic: 5
or something like that. I don't know it the points add up correctly but you get the idea. I'd go with some fire spells like fire pheonix and inferno...maybe fire font. And whatever else sounds fun at the time.

If you want a W/E pure damage dealing warrior i suggest an axe,
14 Axe
12 Fire
3 Strength
1.Shock (knocks them down)
2.Double dragon (240 fire damage)
3.Inferno (120 fire damage)
4.Flame burst (120 fire damage)
5.Disember (deep wound)
6.OPTIONAL ATTACK SKILL
7.OPTIONAL ATTACK SKILL or sprint/rush
8.Rezz signet
This build is pure attack and can wipe out just about any character in a matter of seconds, use shock to knock down, followed by your fire skills and then your attack skill, sprint after them to finish them if they're not dead.
The downside is this costs massive energy after a while, your running low on energy being a warrior so its good to carry an off-hand with a +12 energy. This also has no healing/defense but still - no one is likley to attack you over your other party members because your a warrior and have high armour.
A more advised attacker warrior build is as follows:
14 Hammer
12 Earth
3 Strength
1. Backbreaker {E}
2. Aftershock
3. Counter blow
4. Shock.
5. OP
6. OP
7. OP
8. Rezz sig
Use backbreaker to knock them down for 4 secs follow this by aftershock and counter blow to inflict massive damage, after they finally get up use shock, and then counter-blow and aftershock again.
HAPPY PVPING!

Dunno why you bumped a 2005 thread again, pradine, but I see no reason to continue this discussion.
